Watercolour painting began to interest me about 15 years ago. The translucent colours and the subtle tones and effects are fascinating. The medium was not popular during my art school days so I had not experimented at all, I found it difficult and frustrating but at the same time very enjoyable. Landscapes are my favourite subject but my interest in motor racing runs a close second, particularly when working from an old monochrome image, researching the occasion and bringing it to life with colour.
